Exceptional Early 19th Century Neopolitan Armchair

 A rare early 19th Century Neapolitan armchair executed in mahogany and mahogany veneer, the back splat and blocks over the animal form front legs carved with trophy motifs, the arm posts in the form of swans astride cornucopia. Circa 1815. Provenance: Palazzo Reale, Caserta. See Brosio, Mobile Italiani dell'Ottocento, p.53 and Metropolitan Museum of Art for other examples of same suite.
