Blast from the Past - items for Parish Hadley!

In late May, the Millea Brothers auction house had a sale including a number of lots from the estate of Barbara Allen de Kwiatkowski (LINK here). Mrs. Kwiatkowski’s Connecticut home had been designed by Alan Wanzenberg and the interiors were done by Parish Hadley. It was very exciting to see a few items we made for the project, which, except for the wall-mount hurricanes, we STILL have the floor models for! Below are 3 lots from the sale and in each case the sale item is listed first and then our model or file photo. ENJOY!

Lot 3028 - This was very exciting to find. The model is an 18th Century Regence commode which is deceptively difficult to make. The serpentine or double-bombe front is the first challenge and then the patterns of the drawers alternate and are created using pieces of wood with molded profile edges. Which are on curved surfaces of course! The model in fact has 3 smaller drawers in the top and 2 full-width drawers below. Model R662.
