Provenance: This chair was part of the Rateau Collection and is illustrated in Motteau, "Les Meubles Usuels, Regence et Louis XV", Plate 2. This chair was exhibited at the Metropolitain Museum of Art, "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" exhibition in 2004.
